Locks of Love

In Kindergarten, Grace heard about Locks of Love from someone at school and came home telling me she wanted to do it. I didn't even know if she knew what it was, but of course Grace being as smart as she is told me the entire process and indeed confirmed she wanted to help this great organization!! Here we are, 2 years later, and she still asks "is my hair long enough yet?". So, Sunday night we measured her hair and sure enough!! It is 11" and they only ask for 10". So yesterday after school she immediately showered and made her hair nice and clean. We put it in a ponytail and chopped it. She was so excited to do this. We read on the website that 80% of the hair donations come from kids wanting to help other kids!! Isn't that amazing? http://www.locksoflove.com

Here is the paper she had to fill out to donate. I had her do it herself since it was solely her decision.

Here is her long hair soon to be short!!!

There goes the ponytail!! The entire time I was cutting her hair she kept giggling and saying "it's so cute!" She is a hoot!

Pretending to miss her hair already.

The final product!! She loves it so much!! The only complaint was last night she couldn't fall asleep because the back hairs are so short she said they kept poking her! LOL!! She is such a doll.

What a brave girl to chop off all her hair--she's going to make someone SOOO happy with her gorgeous, curly hair!

I am having very mixed emotions about her beautiful hair cut off. Yet what a loving thing to do to give her hair to another child in need. I have the best grand children in the world.

She is alot like me as in I don't get nervous to cut my hair because I know that it always grows back!

Melissa: Wow what a difference. Grace looks so grown up now. What a sweet kid to do this wonderful thing for someone else.
