Unwelcome events....

This evening was quite eventful for the Hurst family....and not in a good way. We got home from our ward ice cream social and Marcus and the kids were going to go across the street to ride bikes in the church parking lot. Ethan and Isabel went across and Grace was running behind only she didn't make it. She apparently didn't look across the street good enough and ended up getting hit by a car. Nobody except for the driver saw the accident. I was inside feeding Kingston and heard the scooter hit the concrete only I thought it was just one of the kids throwing their bike down. When I looked out all I saw was the car, scooter and Grace's limp body on the pavement. I think Marcus warped out there cause he was out there so fast. When he got there Grace was crying and trying to sit up, good sign!! We took her over and laid her on the grass and waited for the ambulance to get here. She was scared and nervous and kept saying she didn't want to die. We had a hard time convincing her she wasn't going to die. We got to the hospital and she was very uncomfortable because she had a neckbrace on and she was strapped to a board. They took a couple of x-rays and looked her over. She was suprising just fine!! She has some road rash on her arms, small cuts and bruises, and staple in her head. Marcus gave her a blessing before the ambulance got there and all the family we called said a prayer for her. We feel so blessed that she walked away from the accident with such minor injuries! Thank you everyone for keeping Grace in your prayers, I know she is very grateful for all of it! We love you all!!

Here is the worst of the road rash on her arm. There is also some on both elbows and both feet.

Here is the 1 staple in her head. She only had this cut and a small bump on the back of her head for the head injuries.

Melissa: You really had our family worried with Grace. We had to calm Shy and Danny down just to let them come to check on Grace. So glad she is ok. Scarey lesson for kids. Love, Grammy Kathy
